Kanavana
Questions uncover the answer.
Kanavana is a conversation engine. It steers a conversation held by a large language model towards a goal: what needs to be found out, when to ask for more, and when the conversation is done.
Kanavana decides what the conversation is for. The language model does the talking.
Structure
Three layers
-
Services
The recruitment interview and other services are built on Kanavana. A service states what the conversation is for.
-
Kanavana
Steers the conversation: goal, progress, follow-ups, ending and privacy.
-
Language model
An ordinary large language model produces the language. The model can be replaced.

About Kanavana
Between the question and the answer.
I started building Kanavana because I wanted a way to carry information without replacing either side, the one asking or the one answering. Kanavana sits between them: it brings out what matters and asks the right questions about what is still open.
Kanavana can hold a conversation with a person, a search engine, an API or another language model alike. Nor is it tied to any particular language model. It can run in a closed environment or in the public cloud.
In Recruitment Interview it runs within the EU in line with the GDPR. Privacy has been built in from the start on one principle: what is not stored cannot be stolen. The interview conversation is kept only briefly on the servers of UpCloud, a Finnish provider, and then deletes itself.
The Socratic method has helped people reach insight since antiquity. It still does. When the question is the right one, what do you answer?
